Marble cake (vegan)
Always envy how others make this marble cake and i do not know how. Finally at a vegan blog, i saw this recipe, and everything looks easily done, including the ingredients. And so i tried it, the chocolate batter was a bit thick cos i over-estimated as i forgot to minus out the container. Next i was searching online how to line the baking tin and the chocolate batter got dried up a bit too. Anyhow it was a nice attempt.
Ingredients :
200 g Plain flour
40 g Potato starch
100 g Sugar
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
1 sachet of baking soda
80 g melted vegetable fat
250 ml of Soya cream (i used plain water)
100 g Apple puree (compote, bought off-shelve)
1 tbsp of Vanilla extract
50 g Dark chocolate
Method
1. Melt dark chocolate over low heat and add the vanilla extract. Leave aside.
2. Combine the rest of the ingredients and slowly pour in the soya cream (i did not use all of the 250 ml).
3. Separate into 2 batter : one plain and the other to the melted chocolate : blend well.
4. Line the baking tin with parchment paper.
5. Coat the plain batter, followed by the chocolate and alternate till both batter finish.
6. Put to bake in a preheated oven at 200 d.c. for about 30 minutes or till cooked.
